Activision and High Moon Making A Hit Monkey Game
Comics books being turned into video games has been going on for a while. We’ve got dozens of Batman games, Captain America games, Iron Man, Hulk, Spider-Man, Superman. But the one character I never thought they would base a game off of was Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Turns out I’m still right. But hey, Hit Monkey’s getting a game.
Hit Monkey, for those who don’t know, is a Japanese Macaque who’s entire tribe was killed by assassins who were there to kill another assassin the tribe saved. Hit Monkey, who had watched that assassin train in hand-to-hand combat and picked it up, killed every one of the people who murdered his tribe and just kept on killing people. He was a one off character and he was awesome.
The game is being developed by High Moon Studios, who have made the most recent suite of Transformers games, and is being published by Activision. This was supposed to be revealed at Comic-Con, which is happening right now I guess, but someone dropped the ball and released a teaser site for the game too early. It has since been taken down.
Hit Monkey is due out sometime in 2013.
