At least another year and a half, says Kishimoto

Amidst speculation that Masashi Kishimoto’s manga,  Naruto, is coming to an end by certain correspondents who shall remain nameless and others with significantly more integrity and professionalism, it has come out that there is at least another year and a half to go in the hit manga series. With both anime and manga caught up in the climactic Ninja War arc at the moment, it seemed the consensus among readers was that the series was nearing its conclusion but, in a discussion with the character designer for the anime, Kishimoto has stated that the series still has plenty of life left.

Being one of the mainstays of the Jump! lineup for so long, I wasn’t entirely surprised at the initial reports of Naruto‘s end. I was somewhat worried, however, about the hole that it would leave if it did end so soon after Bleach, but that worry seems to have been unfounded with this news. Whether you enjoy the manga or not, it seems it’s going to be around at least a little longer.
