Persona 4 Arena To Get A Manga Series

So, do you guys remember that anime from the 2011 Fall season that was based on a game? Then, it recently got a second game, a fighter this time? Yes? Good, well it seems that that second game is getting a manga.

Yes, yet another series to put into the ever growing Shin Megami Tensei folder in my closet. Persona 4 (the first game) tells the story of Narukami Yu/Seta Souji/(insert name here) as he moves out to the boonies to live with his uncle for a year. Naturally, this being a JRPG, strange happenings begin at his new school, and it’s up to him and his newfound friends to solve what’s going on because, if TV has taught me anything, that’s the responsible thing to do when the police hit dead end after dead end.

The most recent in a long line of games, Persona 4 has spawned both an anime series and a fighting game, with this new manga now added to the mix. The manga will be illustrated by AIYAH-BALL (Code Age, Live on Cardliver Kakeru), and is set to premier in the August 7th issue of Persona Magazine. The manga’s story will supposedly differ from the game slightly, putting more focus on the emotions of the characters.

I, for one, am looking forward to this, and will most certainly check it out. Changing the story could be a risky move with such a well established series, but you can’t make an omelette without cracking a few eggs, as they say. This will certainly be something to look out for in the near future.

  • They probably did it because to keep the japanese people from importing the blue ray at a cheaper price seeing as how the exchange rate is 70¥ 1.00$ and there anime is rediculous expensive Fate/Zero First season is 30000¥ but when it comes to north america it will probably be 50$ for the blue ray because all blu rays are region free it’s the same reason why persona 4 Arena is region lock for the ps3.
