I must really suck at doing this job, because up until now I have never even heard of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. The movie seems like it’s right up my alley. X number of years after escaping from the gingerbread house, Hansel and Gretel are all grown up and are full-time witch hunters, finding any witch they can and fucking them up. And to make it even more awesome, the film is going to have an R rating.
On IMDb, some people were saying that Paramount was test screening both a PG-13 and R rated version of the film, with people preferring the R rated one. Well, according to Collider, that is some bullshit. Paramount is going for a hard R rating on this movie and I am excited now.
The film stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as Hansel and Gretel, with Famke Janssen as the leader of the witches and Peter Stormare as the town sheriff Berringer.
Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters comes out January 11th, 2013.
