Sherlock Director to Direct Frankenstein

So yeah, Fox is making a Frankenstein movie… At least it’s not another vampire movie. Plus, it was announced that Paul McGuigan, who’s directed two thirds of the BBC series Sherlock as well as Lucky Number Slevin, is in final negotiations to direct the movie.

The film is being produced by John Davis, who also produced Predator, with a script written by Max Landis, who wrote Chronicle. Fox is reportedly considering the project a priority. They want to get the film out before other competing Frankenstein movies come out. Because apparently there are competing Frankenstein movies.

Even with all these names attached to this movie, I am still nervous about it. We seem to be in this weird period now where people are slapping classic movie monsters on anything hoping to make a quick buck. Vampires and werewolves have already been done to death and now Frankenstein is being thrown into the void. Hopefully we won’t get to the point where start to bring back mummies.
