Want Your Face in a Game? Specifically Borderlands 2?
GameStop is shipping out one lucky customer to Texas to have their face rendered to appear as a character in Borderlands 2 DLC.
Ever try some skinning as a kid and could never quite get it right? Have you had that friend who explained how they were some pro game artist that could have you put inside their server as a playable character? All these most likely turned out unsuccessful, or if it did, was just your face stretched onto a low poly mesh. Well now times have changed, and the graphics are amazing! Let’s go for a run to your local GameStop, because you don’t care, you have no car, you have to get there somehow. Okay so you have a car, you’re already there because you read the top sentence and grabbed your keys, and off you went. Why are you still reading? Oh, Borderlands 2 comes out on September 18th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. You’re waiting until then. Gotcha.
There is a very cool contenst underway and all you have to do to enter is be at GameStop, purchasing the items you were planning to anyways. The contest runs until September 29, and you can enter up to 17 times per day buying stuff. Making those classic “no purchase necessary” routes where all you do is put one dollar on a gift card. Does that work? Yes? Cool!
The winner of the contest will be given a trip for two to the Gearbox studio in Texas to meet the Borderlands 2 development team and to have yourself motion-captured for the appearance as an NPC feature in a DLC release for Borderlands 2. This includes accommodations for two nights, $500 spending, and so much Borderlands 2 miscellany you’ll be stylin’.
There are catches though, for those of you reading this. You want to look at your feet and make sure they’re not on Canadian soil, because this is only open to the U.S. and you have to be at least 18 years old. Not only that you have to be a PowerUp Rewards member.
I wish you good luck devision of stratified populate! Details and full contest rules can be found at www.poweruprewards.com
