More People Join the Cast of Horns

Last year it was announced that Mandalay Pictures were going to be adapting Joe Hill’s novel Horns, which focused on a man trying to find the person who raped and killed his girlfriend with the help of magical horns that grew out of his head. Since then Alexandre Aja, director of the The Hills Have Eyes and Piranha 3D, has been attached to direct with Daniel Radcliffe, better known as Harry Potter, to star as our horned protagonist. Now we have even more casting details for the film, so let’s run them down.

First, Max Minghella from The Social Network and The Ides of March has entered into talks for the part of Lee Tourneau, who in the book is a childhood friend of Ig Perrish, the main character, and also had the hots for Ig’s girlfriend. Oh, and he also messed around with Ig’s current sex friend. According to Variety, though, Lee is “a public defender with a hidden dark side.”

Next, Juno Temple from The Three Musketeers and a bit part in The Dark Knight Rises is in advanced talks to play Merrin Williams, Ig’s girlfriend who was raped and killed.

Finally Joe Anderson from The Grey and Kelli Garner from Lars and the Real Girl are in talks to join the cast. We don’t know who they will be playing, but we know they’ll play someone.

I have really liked Joe Hill’s comics. Locke and Key is one of my favorite series right now and Horns is one of the more interesting novels I’ve heard about recently. It will also be interesting to see Daniel Radcliffe as not Harry Potter for the first time because I will not watch The Woman in Black and everything else he has lined up sounds dreadful. I am really hoping this movie turns out well.
