Matt Reeves Directing Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

After it was confirmed that Rupert Wyatt, the director of the pretty awesome Rise of the Planet of the Apes, would not be returning to direct the sequel, people were wondering who 20th Century Fox would get to direct it. According to ComingSoon.net, Fox has made their choice.

Matt Reeves, the director of CloverfieldLet Me In, and until recently the planned director for the Twilight Zone remake thing, has been attached to the film which has been titled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Aside from Andy Serkis reprising his role as Caesar, we don’t know about casting yet or plot. I’m guessing it’s going to be about humans dealing with the virus that’s killing them off and possibly making the survivors stupid while the apes keep getting smarter and slowly taking over the world.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is currently set for release on Memorial Day 2014.
