Katana and Vibe Get Their Own Books
After the loss of Blue Beetle, Grifter, Legion Lost, and Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E., DC Comics have finally announced it’s newest titles for the New 52 line up. Joining the previously announced Justice League of America and Threshold are Katana and Vibe!
For those unfamiliar with the characters here’s the gist of it:
Before the New 52 Katana (Tatsu Yamashiro) was introduced in 1983 in The Brave and The Bold #200. A Japanese girl who uses a sword that steals the should of every being it kills. She became a part of Batman’s Outsiders team and she was I guess pretty neat. After the Flashpoint Event she joined the Birds of Prey and got a lamer costume that reminded you how Japanese she was! Now for some reason she’ll be apart of the Justice League of America team coming in 2013.
Vibe is another product of the early 80s. Paco Ramone has the power to dance well and sonic vibraton manipulation and was a Latino ex-gang member in Detroit who joined Aquaman’s Detroit-based Justice League team back in ’84. It was all pretty terrible it seems and again in 2013 he’ll be apart of the new JLA team.
Katana will be written by Ann Nocenti (Catwoman) and illustrated by Alex Sanchez (JSA Classified), Vibe’s creative team will be writer Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow) and art by Pete Woods (Legion Lost) coming new year.
