Insidious gets a Sequel with Four Original Cast Members

I didn’t likeĀ InsidiousĀ very much. It was way too loud and the premise was kinda stupid. I never thought that this movie would have gotten enough money or whatever it is studios use to gauge whether or not they should milk a sequel out of the idea. But low and behold, we’re getting one. We’re even getting some of the cast back.

Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, and Lin Shaye will be reprising their roles from the first film. The played the father, the mother, the son, and the psychic, respectively. On top of the cast, James Wan will be returning to direct, Leigh Whannell will be returning to write, and Jason Blum will be returning to produce.

The first film focused on a family as they were followed from house to house by something that was after their son. It’s ending did open some kind of cool possibilities for a sequel.

Insidious 2 is set to start production in LA on January 15th, shooting for an August 30th release date.
