Starbreeze Announces Sci-Fi Shooter Storm

Starbreeze Studios, developers of the recent Syndicate reboot and The Darkness, have very quietly announced a new game they’re working on.

Called Storm, the game just kinda showed up on their Currently In Development list. The description that was posted with the game followed suit, only reading…

Currently in development.

Co-op Sci Fi FPS.

It is our future.

The folks over at VG247 think that Storm could be Cold Mercury, a free-to-play game that was supposed to come out last February. The project was believed to be cancelled or heavily altered when Mikael Nermark said that Starbreeze was “never going to do free-to-play, because then you have to cater to everyone out there – that’s costly and it’s hard.”

The studio is also working on Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons with film director Josef Fares and Payday 2, which they own since they bought the developer of the first game, Overkill Software.
