Marvel Studio’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier has found its female lead in ABC’s television Revenge, Emily VanCamp.
VanCamp will be joining star Chris Evans, who is reprising his role as the star-spangled man with a plan and newcomer Anthony Mackie who is set to play The Falcon with brothers Joe and Anthony Russo directing, best known for their work on the television series, Community.
While the role VanCamp will be playing is still under wraps, as is Marvel’s way, fan speculation seems to say it’ll be the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter, niece of Peggy Carter, who was seen in the first film.
While nothing else has been confirmed about the plot of the film, the title does suggest the comic storyline of Cap’s sidekick, Bucky, returning as a brainwashed super-assassin will be the focus.
Captain America: The Winter Solider is set for release April 4, 2014
