One Series Ends, Another Begins (sort of?)
It has been out in the world that The World God Only Knows would be ending in its 26th volume but, as of last Saturday, we have a definite date. And it’s soon. Very soon. Like, depending how often you check the site, it could be done by the time you read this kind of soon. I was announced that the final chapter would be published would be published in Weekly Shonen Sunday on April 23rd, which is a Wednesday… I don’t quite understand that either.
I read the manga for a while, more or less until the whole goddess business was concluded, but I admit that I more or less dropped it after that. Still, it was entertaining while I read it, and this gives me a reason to go back to read it again.
Studio Trigger, the group of Studio Gainax staff that were behind Kill La Kill, has revealed it’s next project to be one of near equal ridiculousness, Ninja Slayer. Now, I haven’t ever read the series but with a name like that, you know you’re in for a wild ride. The story takes place in the future of Neo-Saitama (you can tell it’s the future when they put Neo- in front of a city’s name) when the regular salaryman Kenji Fujikido becomes a ninja slayer after his family is killed in a ninja fight. The series is written by an American duo, oddly enough, composed of Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez.
