Deadpool Movie Announced for Winter 2016 Release
Back in July, some test footage for a Deadpool movie, that was made back in 2012 according to some people, was leaked online. There have been rumors and fan demand for a Deadpool movie for quite a while, and now it looks like we’re gonna be getting what we want.
20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios announced earlier today that a movie based on the Regenerating Degenerate is set for release on February 12th, 2016, with Tim Miller set to direct. Miller hasn’t really done any movies before. He’s made a couple of shorts and was a VFX guy on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but the Deadpool movie will be his first theatrical directing job. I haven’t seen either of his shorts so right now I have no real opinion on whether he’s a good or bad choice.
As for the star, Ryan Reynolds has been the name going around forever. He was Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and in the test footage, but as of now no deals are in place. He’ll probably reprise the role, but he and the studios haven’t hammered out all the details yet, I guess.
Deadpool is scheduled to hit cinemas February 12th, 2016.
