Miles Morales Spider-Man Series Announced Post Secret Wars

As many fans had already guessed, Miles Morales, the Spider-Man of the Ultimate universe, will indeed be sticking around post Secret Wars in his very own series simply entitled Spider-Man. The series will be written by Brian Michael Bendis, the ongoing writer and creator of the Ultimate Spider-Man titles for the past 15 years, along with artist Sara Pichelli, who has previously worked with Bendis on the relaunch of Ultimate Spider-Man which introduced Miles Morales. Bendis was quoted by saying this on the series…

Our message has to be it’s not Spider-Man with an asterisk, it’s the real Spider-Man for kids of color, for adults of color and everybody else.

The only question unanswered as of right now is what this means for Peter Parker’s future within this post Secret Wars shared universe, but I’m sure we will find out the details of that soon. Im just glad to be able to continue to read the adventures of Miles Morales in some incarnation since his last series just abruptly ended as a result of Secret Wars, as did a bunch of the great stories being told in certain titles. Shown below is the cover art and solicitation for the new book…

A stranger in a strange land, Miles patrols the rooftops of a New York City that is very different from the one he knew. A world where countless heroes guard it’s skies and streets. A world where Miles is counted among the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers. A world where Peter Parker is still alive. Though their paths have crossed before the landmark series Spider-Men, with Miles now living in Peter’s universe – is this town big enough for two Spider-Men? More importantly – how did Miles come to be here in the first place?!
