360 Mega Pack HD Remix Review

The indie market is flooded with games good and bad, it really is hard to know what you’re getting. Now 360 Mega Pack HD Remix doesn’t seem like something a lot of gamers would be interested in, but that isn’t the case.  Yes this game has a lot of apps that really seem to serve no purpose, but it also has a few games and that is where the gems are.  This game doesn’t look like much from the cover and you may never have looked any further.  Let me tell you what this game is all about and remember it’s on 80 msp or 1.00.

First off take note of what you are getting: Gravity Dash, Arrow Panic, Twin Stick Shooter, Masters of Memory, Ping, Super Button Mashing Bros, Ultra Clock, Omega Calculator, Rumble Lounge, Fantastic Flashlight, and Fortuitous Fortune Cookie. That right there is a lot for just 80 msp. Now you may be wondering what are all these things and why do I want them.  Here is why.

Gravity Dash is a box sliding along a coarse of obstacles. You can jump and reverse the gravity all in an attempt to reach the end of the stage without crashing or hitting a red block.  It’s very challenging and well put together and to top it off you can make your own stages for it. It’s easy to build your own stage and the ones already created have kept me from completing them all, but you just keep going back for more punishment.

Arrow Panic is an odd strategy game.  All the players get a base and you collect money to place and remove arrows on the board attempting to forward the explosives to your opponents.  This game is very fun, but I do have to say it is sad that it doesn’t seem to allow AI’s to play the other bases so you are required to have another person over to play this game.

Twin Stick Shooter is exactly what it says, it is a good game no flare to it though.  Everything about this game screams Atari 2600 or 70’s arcade game.  It is tough with randomly dropped power-ups you never know what your going to get.

Masters of Memory and Ping are very simple. Masters of Memory is a Simon Says clone and ping is a pong clone.  Not much more can be said about them.  They are simple, but if you’re looking to kill a sometime between more serious games here it is.

Now I will bundle the rest with just a quick response on them. Super Button Mashing Bros is a game that you press a button until your thumb hurts and see how fast you are at pressing the button.  Ultra Clock is simply a clock no real purpose that I could honestly note.  Omega Calculator is just a calculator but if you don’t have one on your phone and you can’t seem to find that one calculator everyone has floating around the house, well here one is that you won’t lose.  Fantastic Flashlight is just pick a color and rate of flashing and let it go.  Only purpose I found for it is if your other half is annoying you turn this on, it’ll probably get them to leave the room or have a seizure. Fortuitous Fortune Cookie will give you your fortune and that’s about it.  If you want to get a fortune everyday here you go, no more need to buy that Chinese food to get a fortune cookie. Lastly but not least we have The rumble room. You can turn on as many controllers as you like and set the vibration pattern and off your controllers go.  If your girlfriend really wants a massage and you are just to tired to put the effort into it.  Set two controllers going, put one in each hand and let them do the work for you. All you have to do is move your arms.

Now before I close I have to make a special note about the music through the game. It is good, at no point did it annoy me or get tedious. If the song playing was to slow for me at the moment you can always change the song by pausing the game.  I thought this was just great.

So overall, I say buy this.  Don’t spend your money on some app that just does the massage feature or is just a twin stick shooter or pong or Simon Says. This one game has them all plus more. It is well worth the dollar spent and you won’t regret it.
