PSP2 Could Be Coming Fall 2011

For quite a while now people have been waiting for something, anything about Sony’s next handheld gaming console which everyone has been calling the PSP2. Well according to Kotaku we might get our hands on it as early as next year.

The article says that the rumored touch panel has been confirmed but not how it will be applied to games. That aspect of the hardware is being left to the developers, so let’s hope that the devs can come up with something interesting.

The screen is about an inch larger than the current PSP which means an even bigger system. It is also supposedly sharper, said to be HD by Sony.

Currently Sony is having issues with the hardware, primarily the battery, power and heat. They say that the system is having problems with overheating but are focusing on fixing that problem before they show it to the public.

None of the  hardware specs are final at this point but Sony has set the PSP2’s goals and are aiming for a Fall 2011 release window. Here’s hoping all this works out well, and that there is a fucking second analog stick.
