Ant-Man Movie Is Happening

So The Avengers happened. And it was awesome. But some people, including myself, have been wondering what’s next. Obviously we got all the sequels next, like Captain America 2, Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, but what will Marvel’s next big hero thing be? For those who know the Avengers from the comics you may have noticed two of the founding Avengers missing from the movie. Well, we may get to see at least one, possibly both, of them in the maybe next non-sequel Marvel Studios movie, Ant-Man.

Who is Ant-Man, you might ask? Ant-Man, real name Hank Pym, is known for three things in the Marvel universe (at least to me he is). In no particular order, he is known for: 1) Creating Ultron, one of the Avengers’ worst enemies, 2) Constantly switching identities, going from Ant-Man to Giant Man to Yellowjacket to Ant-Man again to just Hank to Giant-Man to Yellowjacket to Goliath to Giant-Man to Ant-Man again to The Wasp to Giant-Man again, and 3) For beating his wife. Yes this is a superhero who created a supervillain and abused his wife. So this may be the most interesting Marvel movie ever.

According to an interview HeyUGuys.co.uk did with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, there’s been a script done for months and the movie is, “…As close as it’s ever been,” to being finished. Feige said that “Edgar I think is getting excited to get behind the camera again and to start some advanced prep-work for Ant-Man.” Who is this Edgar Feige speaks of?

Why none other than Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Apparently he is attached to be directing this new movie and tweeted this little thing a few days ago.

So yeah, it looks like Ant-Man is gonna be happening. Feige said in the interview that the studio “will be taking some forward steps in a few months.”

So what do you guys think about an Ant-Man movie? Let us know in the forums or in the comments below.
