Capcom: Resident Evil 6 To Sell 7 Million Copies

Capcom is expecting Resident Evil 6 to sell more that 7 million copies, which is more than any other game in the company’s history. Today Capcom released some presentation materials to go with its quarterly reports, they also shared some sales expectation for a small amount of up coming games.

Capcom projects Resident Evil 6 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC will out sell any other game in their history worldwide. As it stands right now, Capcom’s best-selling game of all time is Street Fighter II for the Super Nintendo which sold 6.3 million copies. The last main entry in the survival horror series (Resident Evil 5) sold a total of 5.8 million copies. which makes it the second best selling game in the company’s history.

None of the other games Capcom talked about is expected to sell anywhere near the amount projected for Resident Evil 6, there is a few that is expected to hit in the million mark. The publisher is expecting the revamped Devil May Cry game, that is slated for sometime this year to sell about 2 million copies. Meanwhile, this months’ new intellectual property Dragon’s Dogma is expected to hit 1.5 million sold and next years Lost Planet 3 is expected to sell around 1.4 million copies.

Really the only one of those games that I am excited about is Resident Evil 6 and if things go the way Capcom is expecting, I will be one of the 7 million people playing it.
