God of War Movie Gets New Writers

There seems to be a lot of video game movie news recently. First Fassbender is working on an Ass Creed movie, then CBS gets the Deus Ex movie rights, and now Universal Pictures has hired two writers from the Saw movies to write a new script for their God of War movie.

Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who wrote Saw IV, V, VI and 3D, were hired by Universal on Wednesday to bang out a script for the movie which has apparently been in development for at least four years now.

No news on who will be starring in the movie and we are not sure who is directing the movie, either. In 2008 Brett Ratner was attached to the project but this movie has been in production limbo for so long who knows anymore.

No release date has been announced.
