Guardians of the Galaxy Found its Star-Lord in Chris Pratt

It seems the adaptation of the unlikely team of space heroes has found its leader in an unlikely actor. Marvel Studio’s Guardians of the Galaxy has found it’s star and it isn’t the one most people were expecting; Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt.

The role of US Pilot Peter Quill/Star-Lord, had seemed to be quite the coveted role as actors ranging from Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Zachary Levi to Michael Rosenbaum all auditioned for the part. Chris Pratt is probably most known for his roll of Andy Dwyer in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, but has done more serious roles in Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty.

The next character fans are speculating to be cast is the role of Drax the Destroyer, a human resurrected as a green warrior, as Dave Bauista, Isaiah Mustafa and Brian Patrick Wade have all reportedly been in talks for the role. Rumors are also swirling for who will voice fan-favorite, Rocket Raccoon as names like Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler have been mentioned across the ‘net.

James Gunn’s The Guardians of the Galaxy is slated for release August 1st, 2014.
