Five Roles for PlayStation’s Powers Cast

When Sony announced that it was going to be bringing original programming the PlayStation Network, it announced that its first original series would be an adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s Powers, a comic about cops who investigate crimes involving superpowered individuals. It was originally supposed to air on FX, but it never went to series. So Sony picked it up, and started recasting the project.

The first new cast member is Sharlto Copley (District 9The A-Team) as Christian Walker. Walker is one of the protagonists, a former Power who lost his powers somehow and became a cop in the Powers Division of the Chicago Police Force. He is partners with Deena Pilgrim, who is being played by Susan Heyward.

Next is Michelle Forbes (True BloodOrphan Black) as Retro Girl, an incredibly popular super-heroine who plays a major part in the first story arc of the comics. She had previously been involved with Walker.

Up next, Eddie Izzard (Mystery Men) has been cast as Wolfe, a long time rival of Walker’s. I would go into more about him but I feel like that would spoiling stuff.

Fourth is Noah Taylor (that computer Englishman from the Tomb Raider movies) as Johnny Royalle, a teleporting nightclub owner who’s probably into some sketchy shit.

Finally, Olesya Rulin (High School Musical) as Calista Secor, a Powers wannabe.

Powers is currently in development, set to premiere in December 2014 on the PSN.
